What you learn at each level — Italian

    Level 1

Our beginners' Italian course is for anyone who's never studied Italian (and a coffee course in Tuscany doesn't count). We'll learn a lively, vibrant language through songs, stories and short speaking games, with emphasis on confidence and flow. From the very first session you'll start pronouncing correctly, introducing yourself and ordering an espresso without blushing. Classes are conducted almost entirely in Italian — it's challenging at first, but it's the most effective way to "open your ear" and get your mouth working. The class is small and friendly, with lots of practice, laughter and Italian culture (yes, we talk about food too). By the end you'll have solid foundations in grammar and vocabulary, know how to hold a basic everyday conversation, and understand why they call it "the fine art of speaking Italian."

    • The course is conducted entirely in Italian, designed for people with no prior background
    • Focus on conversation skills — training your ears and mouth to the "music" of the language
    • We'll learn to introduce ourselves and describe basic actions and feelings in present and past tense
    • Textbook: Nuovo Espresso 1, alongside HaAmbatia's original learning materials
    • Every class ends with learning an Italian song
    • 15 sessions, 2 hours each
    Level 2

Have some background? Great — let's organize it and kick it up a notch. We'll strengthen pronunciation and musicality (yes, including the R...), work on rhythm and continuous speech, and sharpen those basics that tend to slip away: articles (il/lo/la), gender and number, useful prepositions, and everyday structures that come up again and again. We'll expand vocabulary for real daily life (food, cafés, errands, transportation, time and plans), and practice asking, requesting, suggesting and clarifying when you're not understood — without switching to English after two words. The class is small, speaking is at the center, and feedback is personal: less "learning about the language," more using it. By the end you'll feel you speak more easily, understand more by ear, and are ready for classes conducted almost entirely in Italian (with plenty of culture, and definitely some food).

    • The course is conducted entirely in Italian, building on the beginners' course
    • Solidifying Level 1 foundations and gaining flexibility with present and past tenses
    • Central theme: the verb system — reviewing basics and learning new tenses
    • Textbook: Nuovo Espresso 1, alongside HaAmbatia's original learning materials
    • Every class ends with learning an Italian song
    • 15 sessions, 2 hours each
    Level 5

You speak well but feel stuck? This is where you break through. We'll significantly expand your vocabulary, dive into richer texts (stories, short articles), and learn to adjust your phrasing to context — formal, friendly or professionally casual. We'll practice short topic presentations, responding to reasoned opinions, and longer speaking stretches without "um..." We'll dedicate time to advanced pronunciation and sentence musicality to sound natural. Writing and formality will get their place too — messages, short emails and organized paragraphs. By the end you'll feel "at home" in the language: able to speak freely on a variety of topics and understand unfamiliar texts.

What people say about learning at HaAmbatia:

חיפשתי מסגרת קבוצתית, שתאפשר לי לא רק ללמוד ערבית אלא לקדם את מיומנות השיחה הספונטנית ובאמת לדבר בשפה באופן קבוע. כבר מהרגע הראשון הרגשתי שנקלעתי למקום, שבו לא רק לומדים את השפה הערבית, אלא חוגגים אותה, והכי חשוב עבורי: לא מפסיקים לדבר.
